Today is science day for me.  Just wanted to share this helpful tips about cancer, how we can avoid having it and try to prevent it.

Please note the following :

CANCER : Not all cancers are the same.  1/3 is curable.  1/3 is preventable.

2 factors of cancer that cannot be controlled are AGE & FAMILY HISTORY.

CAUSES OF CANCER:
1. Smoking is very often the main cause of cancer.  It kills us silently and drains money from us quietly.  There’re 4,000 harmful chemicals (though in diluted form) in one stick of cigarette.  Taking one puff is 600 times worse than inhaling exhaust fumes from vehicles.

2. Some foods that cause cancer is:
a. Barbecued Food.
b. Deep Fried Food.
c. Overheating Meat.
d. Food that is high in fat causes our bile to secrete acid that contains a chemical which is a promoter of cancer cells.
e. Food that contains preservatives, too much salt or nitrates, e.g. canned food, salted egg & veggies, sausages, etc.
f. Overnight Rice (where Aflatoxin is accumulated).
g. Food that is low in fibre : Our body needs 25gm of both soluble & insoluble fibre daily.  We must drink at least 1.5 litres of plain water a day.
h. Contaminated Food (e.g. moulded bread causes our body to secrete toxins that may eventually lead to liver cancer in the long run. Never eat bread that is kept in room temperature for more than 2 days especially in a humid weather).

3. Types of fat and which is the best?
Highly Recommended for Health:
a. Olive Oil - It does not absorb in our body.
b. Fish Oil - Omega 3 (contained in NI’s Circulytes) has poly-unsaturated fat.  It’s good for our brain cells.
c. Peanut Oil - It contains Vitamin E.  A small dosage is recommended only.

4. Not Recommended for Health
a. Vegetable Fat - Palm oil is worse than coconut oil.  It is high in cholesterol and highly unsaturated.
b. Coconut Oil - It has saturated fat.

5. Specific Food & Beverages
a. Egg when eaten too much can cause High Colon Cancer, Risk Ovary Cancer, Prostate Cancer.
b. Cabbage is highly recommended for health reason.
c. Tomato is best eaten raw with a bit of olive oil for better absorption.  Other  alternative is to take tomato sauce.  Do not boil!  Tomatoes became acidic when boiled.
d. A little coffee is good because it contains 2 anti-oxidants.  Inhale coffee aroma for half each day is equivalent to eating 2 oranges a day.  However, the residue of over-burned coffee is extremely bad for health.  It can cause cancer.
e. Tea, as long as it is in its original tealeaves and not processed into BOH or Lipton packets, it is good for health.  Tea contains 30 anti-oxidants.  Recommended dosage is a cup a day.

EXERCISE AND BE FIT
Have a balanced lifestyle.  Exercise regularly.

F : Frequency                : 3 to 5 times a week.
I  : Intensity                   : Exercise till we sweat and breath deeply.
T : Types of exercises     : Find one that suits our age, lifestyle?

HAVE REGULAR CHECK-UP once we reach the age of 45 & above, it is recommended that we go for  regular comprehensive health examination.  Early detection may save lives.

I always wonder why we describe so many things as a female gender.  Say for example, "I have a brand new car.  She’s a beauty, isn’t she?"  or "I like your house.  She’s very pretty."

You may not know this, but many non-living things have a gender.

1. Ziploc Bags are Male, because they hold everything in, but you can see right through them.

2. Copiers are Female, because once turned off; it takes a while to warm them up again. It’s an effective reproductive device if the right buttons are pushed, but can wreak havoc if the wrong buttons are pushed.

3. A Tire is Male, because it goes bald and it’s often over-inflated.

4. A Hot Air Balloon is Male, because, to get it to go anywhere, you have to light a fire under it, and of course, there’s the hot air part.

5. Sponges are Female, because they’re soft, squeezable and retain water.

6. A Web Page is Female, because it’s always getting hit on.

7. A Subway is Male, because it uses the same old lines to pick people up.

8. An Hourglass is Female, because over time, the weight shifts to the bottom.

9. A Hammer is Male, because it hasn’t changed much over the last 5,000 years, but it’s handy to have around.

10. A Remote Control is Female. Ha! You thought it’d be male, didn’t you? But consider this - it gives a man pleasure, he’d be lost without it, and while he doesn’t always know the right buttons to push, he keeps trying!

We have been so very busy these past few days because of the holiday rush and most of us have experienced stress one time or another.

I have read an article before that in order to get rid of your stress, you must imitate an animal.  Well, i think it’s quite stressful just thinking of it especially if you would like to imitate a snake for example.  So, i hope that these tips will be of help to all of us.

An Angel says, "Never borrow from the future. If you worry about what may happen tomorrow and it doesn’t happen, you have worried in vain. Even if it does happen, you have to worry twice."

1. Pray.
2. Go to bed on time.
3. Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed.
4. Say No to projects that won’t fit into your time schedule, or that will compromise your mental health.
5. Delegate tasks to capable others.
6. Simplify and unclutter your life.
7. Less is more. (Although one is often not enough, two are often too many.)
8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to places.
9. Pace yourself. Spread out big changes and difficult projects over time; don’t lump the hard things all together.
10. Take one day at a time.
11. Separate worries from concerns. If a situation is a concern, find out what God would have you do and let go of the anxiety. If you can’t do anything about a situation, forget it.
12. Live within your budget; don’t use credit cards for ordinary purchases.
13. Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet, an extra house key buried in the garden, extra stamps, etc.
14. K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut). This single piece of advice can prevent an enormous amount of trouble.
15. Do something for the Kid in You everyday.
16. Carry a Bible with you to read while waiting in line.
17. Get enough rest.
18. Eat right.
19. Get organized so everything has its place.
20. Listen to a tape while driving that can help improve your quality of life.
21. Write down thoughts and inspirations.
22. Every day, find time to be alone.
23. Having problems? Talk to God on the spot. Try to nip small problems in the bud. Don’t wait until it’s time to go to bed to try and pray.
24. Make friends with Godly people.
25. Keep a folder of favorite scriptures on hand.
26. Remember that the shortest bridge between despair and hope is often a good "Thank you Jesus."
27. Laugh.
28. Laugh some more!
29. Take your work seriously, but not yourself at all.
30. Develop a forgiving attitude (most people are doing the best they can).
31. Be kind to unkind people (they probably need it the most).
32. Sit on your ego.
33. Talk less; listen more.
34. Slow down.
35. Remind yourself that you are not the general manager of the universe.
36. Every night before bed, think of one thing you’re grateful for that you’ve never been grateful for before. GOD HAS A WAY OF TURNING THINGS AROUND FOR YOU.  "If God is for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31)

Today is Sunday and for me it is a day where we should devote to the Lord.  I know i’m starting to be preachy but if you are not feeling like you wanted to go to church, it’s ok.  Just reserve one day devoted for Him in the seven days He has given you.

Also, it is a day that we should express our talents and so just wanted to share this amazing village.

Either the person who did this is an Excel freak or he just did not know what to do with his time all day!

To see his work of art, please do the following:

1. Open excel file attached.

Village

2. Press Ctrl A(Select All) Go to format, row, height & insert 15.33

3. Go to format, column, width & insert 2.4

4. VOILA! Admire the result. Absolutely Brilliant!!!!

Just had a very busy day editing my yahoo photos, friendster profile and blogs and reading my emails.  One of the messages that again caught my attention was about this last Gospel tract.  It touched my heart and I hope it would also touch yours.  Just be patient reading the whole story and I promise you that you will be blessed and be glad that you have read it.

Every Sunday afternoon, after the morning service at the church, the Pastor and his eleven year old son would go out into their town and hand out Gospel Tracts.

This particular Sunday afternoon, as it came time for the Pastor and his son to go to the streets with their tracts, it was very cold outside, as well as pouring down rain. The boy bundled up in his warmest and driest clothes and said; "OK dad, I’m ready." His Pastor dad asked, "Ready for what?" "Dad, it’s time we gather our tracts together and go out." Dad responds, "Son, it’s very cold outside and it’s pouring down rain."

The boy gives his dad a surprised look, asking "But Dad, aren’t people still going to Hell, even though it’s raining?" Dad answers, "Son, I am not going out in this weather." Despondently, the boy ask, "Dad, can I go? Please?"

His father hesitated for a moment then said, "Son, you can go. Here are the tracts, be careful son." "Thanks Dad!" And with that, he was off and out into the rain.

This eleven year old boy walked the streets of the town going door to door and handing everybody he met in the street a Gospel Tract. After two hours of walking in the rain, he was soaking, bone-chilled wet and down to his VERY LAST TRACT. He stopped on a corner and looked for someone to hand a tract to, but the streets were totally deserted.

Then he turned toward the first home he saw and started up the sidewalk to the front door and rang the door bell. He rang the bell, but nobody answered. He rang it again and again, but still no one answered. He waited but still no answer. Finally, this eleven year old trooper turned to leave, but something stopped him. Again, he turned to the door and rang the bell and knocked loudly on the door with his fist.

He waited, something holding him there on the front porch. He rang again and this time the door slowly opened.

Standing in the doorway was a very sad-looking elderly lady. She softly asked "What can I do for you, son?"

With radiant eyes and a smile that lit up her world, this little boy said: "Ma’am, I’m sorry if I disturbed you, but I just want to tell you that *JESUS REALLY DOES LOVE YOU* and I came to give you my very last Gospel Tract which will tell you all about JESUS and His great LOVE."

With that, he handed her his last tract and turned to leave.

She called to him as he departed. "Thank you, son! And God Bless You!"

Well, the following Sunday morning in church Pastor Dad was in the pulpit. As the service began, he asked, "Does anybody have testimony or want to say anything?" Slowly, in the back row of the church, an elderly lady stood to her feet.

As she began to speak, a look of glorious radiance came from her face, "No one in this church knows me. I’ve never been here before. You see, before last Sunday I was not a Christian. My husband passed on some time ago, leaving me totally alone in this world.

Last Sunday, being a particularly cold and rainy day, it was even more so in my heart that I came to the end of the line where I no longer had any hope or will to live. So I took a rope and a chair and ascended the stairway into the attic of my home. I fastened the rope securely to a rafter in the roof, then stood on the chair and fastened the other end of the rope around my neck. Standing on that chair, so lonely and brokenhearted I was about to leap off, when suddenly the loud ringing of my doorbell downstairs startled me. I thought, "I’ll wait a minute, and whoever it is will go away." I waited and waited, but the ringing doorbell seemed to get louder and more insistent, and then the person ringing also started knocking loudly.

I thought to myself again, "Who on earth could this be? Nobody ever rings my bell or comes to see me."

I loosened the rope from my neck and started for the front door, all the while the bell rang louder and louder. When I opened the door and looked I could hardly believe my eyes, for there on my front porch was the most radiant and angelic little boy I had ever seen in my life.

His SMILE, oh, I could never describe it to you! The words that came from his mouth caused my heart that had long been dead,TO LEAP TO LIFE as he exclaimed with a cherub-like voice, "*Ma’am, I just came to tell you that JESUS REALLY DOES LOVE YOU*." Then he gave me this Gospel Tract that I now hold in my hand.

As the little angel disappeared back out into the cold and rain, I closed my door and read slowly every word of this Gospel Tract. Then I went up to my attic to get my rope and chair. I wouldn’t be needing them any more.

You see "I am now a Happy Child of the KING.

Since the address of your church was on the back of this Gospel Tract; I have come here to personally say THANK YOU TO God’s little angel who came just in the nick of time and by so doing, spared my soul from eternity in hell."

There was not a dry eye in the church. And as shouts of praise and honor to THE KING resounded off the very rafters of the building.

Pastor Dad descended from the pulpit to the front pew where the little angel was seated. He took his son in his arms and sobbed uncontrollably.

Probably no church has had a more glorious moment, and probably this universe has never seen a Papa that was more filled with love & honor for his son… Except for One. This Father also allowed His Son to go out into a cold and dark world. He received His Son back with joy unspeakable, and as all of heaven Shouted praises and honor to The King, the Father sat His beloved Son on a throne far above all principality and power and every name that is named.

Once in Saul’s life he’s called beast of Christ child
Beating them, stoning them and watched as they die
Praising God in dragging men and after that imprisoned them
Great laments was there to bear, open grave lay prepared for them
Nightmares of God’s precious sons

When Saul was called Paul and preached the Gospel of Christ
Christians were terrified, they still thought he lies
Time passing by and the flowers fall
This such havoc one now warns them all
Bringing men on God’s redeeming grace

Let not your burdens
Darked off His light
Cast all your cares on Him
And serve with your might
Being a son of God
Your burdens become so light
And the dark shadows fade

Once in our life we were enemies of God
Denying Him, forsaking Him and drive off His child
Living on hating Him instead of loving Him
Calling on Satan’s name and not on Christ the King
Shadows, just now shadows behind

God works on mysterious ways as the path of the wind
His light shines through the night as bright as the day
He charts the path ahead of us
And tells us where to stop and rest
Serve Him full with all your heart
And give your life to the one who brings
Justice and peace He bestows

Let not your burdens
Darked off His light
Cast all your cares on Him
And serve with your might
Being a son of God
Your burdens become so light
And the dark shadows fade

Nung una kitang makita
Parang ako’y nabihag mo na
At ng ikaw ay makilala
Unti-unting napupuna
Damdamin ko ay ibang-iba
Ikaw lang ang inaasam
Na makapiling at makasama

Ngayong tayo ay magkasama
O giliw ko, sampung taon na
Dalangin na lang sa t’wina
Na sana ay magtatagal pa
Hindi lang taon
Pang habang panahon
Walang iwanan sa ere, di ba?

Mahal kita
Tunay ‘to sinta
Mahal kita
Walang iba

Kislap ng ‘yong mata
Ngiti mong kay ganda
Wangis mong kahali-halina
Sa bawat kilos mo
Taglay ay isang bango
Na nagsisilbing walang hanggang samyo

Pag-ibig mo’y isang umaga
Bukang liwayway ng isang pag-asa
Pagsuyong pang habang buhay
Ang s’yang nadarama Pagkat kasama ka

Awitin kong alay
Tinitibok ng puso
Pagsuyo na sinasamo
Sana ay dinggin mo
At ito’y damhin mo

Sa pagsapit ng dilim
Mahal ikaw pa rin
Dalangin ko’t hinihiling-hiling
Inaasam-asam, minimithi-mithi
Asahan mong ito’y hanggang libing

Pag-ibig mo’y isang umaga
Bukang liwayway ng isang pag-asa
Pagsuyong pang habang buhay
Ang s’yang nadarama pagkat mahal kita

Malayo pa lang
Kita ko na
Taglay mong katangian
Di mapipintasan

Di kayang tularan
Kahit ninuman
O kay sarap pagmasdan
Taglay mong kagandahan

Di na kayang pigilin pa
Damdamin ko’y ibang-iba
Pagmamahal na s’yang nadarama
Di na lilisan pa

Malayo pa lang
Kita ko na
Taglay mong kagandahan
Di mapapantayan

Di kayang tularan
Kahit ninuman
O kay sarap pagmasdan
Taglay mong kagandahan

Di na kayang pigilin pa
Damdamin ko’y ibang-iba
Pagmamahal na s’yang nadarama
Di na lilisan pa

I love you so and this I know
eventhough sometimes
I just can’t let it show

Thinking of the past
And knowing that i’m the last
Fearing that day may pass
That i’ll just be an outcast

Yes, I don’t have it all
Feeling that i’m so small
But these things to you I call
Please catch me when I fall

Falling in love with you
Falling so pure and true
And now I can say it too,
Oh Nics, I LOVE YOU SO!
